Job Summary The Walmart Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing category growth strategies that balance the needs of Oldcastle APG and Wal-Mart/Sam's Club. Candidates intelligent and self-motivated with the ability to support various Brands & Categories for strategic growth. Reporting to the National Sales Director, this position will be remote with local travel. Job Responsibilities Working with others, will be responsible for developing an Account Plan for Wal-Mart & Sam's Club including near- and long-term objectives, timelines and tracking/monitoring and reporting Creates and articulates business opportunities based on evolving shopper behaviors and Wal-Mart/Sam's Club Strategies Brings omni-channel shopper concepts to life; ensures that products are available at every touch point in the shopper journey Ability to proactively influence strategy and identify opportunities for growth both with the Wal-Mart/Sam's Club and within Oldcastle APG/Lawn & Garden Effectively lead and influence Customer Annual Line Review & Product Category reviews, recommends and manages appropriate data, closes knowledge gaps and aligns team to appropriate category priorities Ability to anticipate future Retailer & Consumer market needs and drives solutions Trains, educates and develops consumer-driven mindset as competitive advantage for Oldcastle APG/Lawn & Garden Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field, MBA preferred 5+ years of progressive sales, category management, trade marketing, analytics, consumer or shopper insights experience Proven experience leading customer engagements in both space and assortment, pricing strategy, trade promotion strategy, and omnichannel solutions Strong professional and interpersonal skills - ability to develop a vision and influence at all levels; understands customer operations and what's required to win at retail Possesses business & financial acumen with knowledge of retailer and manufacturing processes/structure Works well in a dynamic, decentralized business model and is comfortable with regional variabilities Embraces change, challenge and problem-solving.
