In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
- Federal Work Study student may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.
For complete program details, please go to our website: The Teaching Artist Assistant/Assistant Musical Director will support Musical Theatre faculty provide rigorous and inclusive early level musical theatre training in dance, singing, song interpretation, and ensemble work to 12-14 year old collaborators working towards a culminating public share.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - The TAA/AMD will assist all vocal warm ups and full ensemble rehearsals, learn all music prepared for use for both session weeks, and will be able to run music rehearsals and/or offer singing/choral tutorials as needed.
- TAA/DCs will capture all final run throughs of music per class/rehearsal and post the recording on our internal site and will otherwise use notation to capture information about vocal musical performance direction and maintain continuity from rehearsal to rehearsal.
- The TAA/AMD will record rehearsal tracks in parts in the correct key and will help arrange/transpose at the direction/with the support of the Music Director. They will put the tracks on our internal site for participant access.
The TAA/AMD may also assist with: - Organizing and facilitating Brown Bag Conversations about contemporary issues in the industry appropriate for teen audience discussion.
- Preparing, managing, and handing out materials.
- Coaching participants
Required Skills and Knowledge: - Competent accompanist
- Sight reading and music theory competency
- Should be comfortable personally performing as well as leading music rehearsals for all MT styles throughout the canon
- Experience in teaching pedagogy, working with pre-teens and teens, or a strong interest to work with this specialized population in the future is essential.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge: - Capacity to play a musical instrument (any additional to piano) to accompany a performance is a plus.
- Songwriting/Advanced Arranging skills a plus
