Job Description

Zambezi’s media division, , is seeking a Senior Media Planner to join the growing team. Scale is a modern media practice that believes in creative media backed by data.

This person is responsible for developing and implementing media plans, working closely alongside the wider media team and our clients. The ideal candidate is eager to join a growing team, be part of a collaborative community of media experts and overall wants to continue to learn and advance in their career. This role is an opportunity to step up in a client-facing role, have ownership of stages of the media workflow and is a great opportunity for someone with some previous Media Planner experience.

Candidate must be in the greater Los Angeles area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

20% Lead Strategy & Planning Development

  • Employ planning, evaluation, and buying tools (i.e. Comscore, MRI) for application/analysis into the competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development, and reporting
  • Show growing critical thinking and analysis to draw conclusions and construct actionable implications
  • Own the digital media plan development stage to collect RFP responses from partners/sites, assist in analyzing proposals and partner negotiations
  • Monitor trends, tools, opportunities, and applications in paid social media environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge
  • Compile updates on partner capabilities and offerings through vendor contact
  • Participate in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development

25% Campaign Execution

  • Traffic plan assets, including creative and required tracking tags
  • Set up & monitor 3rd party ad server/tracker system, ensuring sites are enabled, functioning properly and all materials are received from creative agency
  • Execute Quality Assurance (QA) of tracking functionality and creative units to identify and solve any issues

30% Campaign Management

  • Manage plans in the billing system (Advantage), track insertion orders, creative specifications, and handle traffic sheets/creative assignments as necessary
  • Generate insertion orders within internal systems tool to reserve advertising space and be responsible for the accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery ensuring proper protocol
  • Maintain plan records, insertion orders, contact lists, spec documents, etc
  • Create creative allocation sheet and manage the process with Account, Production, and Analytics
  • Manage day-to-day communication with key partners: vendors, partner agencies, and creative media and social clients

25% Reporting on Campaign Performance

  • Build campaign performance reporting inclusive of aggregating information from third-party servers and site-direct reporting
  • Create and evaluate campaign effectiveness via reporting (predetermined cadences) and post-campaign analysis
  • Monitor reporting weekly and provides an active voice communicating optimization opportunities and challenges
  • Comfortable presenting campaign performance results to clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years experience in an integrated media role
  • Experience presenting directly to clients
  • Familiar with industry planning tools such as ComScore, Kantar or Adviews, AdRelevance or Pathmatics, and MRI/Simmons/Scarborough data
  • Self-starter, ability to work with a high level of independence
  • A natural collaborator with great negotiation and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel/Word/Powerpoint and GSuite
  • Experience with Google Analytics/Omniture, a plus
  • Experience with Facebook/Instagram/TikTok/DSP/Affiliate platforms, a plus

The salary range for this position is $70 - $80K. Exactly where a prospective employee will be paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, the candidate’s depth of experience and qualifications about the job description and the actual job duties of the role. In addition to salary, we offer comprehensive benefits (covering 100% medical, dental, vision, open PTO, and more). The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles to find the right candidate for Zambezi.
