Seeking a new career challenge? Then Woolpert is seeking you! Woolpert is hiring a Senior Geophysicistto join our dynamic Maritime Team at our San Rafaeloffice. This position reports to the Discipline Director and is responsible for providing technical expertise in marine geophysical surveys using a variety of industry-standard software and sensors.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

Essential Functions

As a Senior Geophysicist at Woolpert, you will:

Provide technical expertise in marine geophysical surveys using a variety of industry-standard software and sensors.

• Lead and supervise survey system integration, data quality control, geophysical survey operations, troubleshooting, data processing, and analysis.
• Support the entire geophysical project life cycle, including proposal development, survey design, mobilization, survey acquisition, QA-QC, data processing, data interpretation, and reporting.
• Lead and supervise hydrographic survey technicians in data acquisition and processing, with a focus on supporting team members' technical growth and development.
• Provide technical and programmatic support to program and operations managers, participate in strategic planning, and strengthen the marine geophysical program at Woolpert by providing technical support.

Minimum Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Coastal/Marine Geology, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics field plus
• 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment, self-manage, and manage others.
• Expertise in the installation, calibration, operation, post-processing, analysis, and QA/QC of geophysical systems (including multibeam and singlebeam sonar, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profilers, sparkers, boomers, S-UHRS, marine magnetometers, transverse gradiometers, and USBL positioning systems, and inertial navigation systems).
• Experience with industry standard software packages including: CARIS HIPS/SIPS, EIVA - NaviSuite, QPS, SonarWiz, Hypack, Oasis Montaj, MagPick, Kingdom Suite, Seismic Unix, Discover, Radex Pro, Global Mapper, POS Pac, ArcGIS, etc.
• Ability to perform field work, including travel and weekends, and the physical ability to lift objects over 50lbs.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and the ability to obtain a US passport.
• A commitment to seeing projects through to completion, a high attention to detail, and an enthusiastic attitude.

Posted Salary Range

USD $91,100.00 - USD $151,800.00 /Yr.
