Job Description The TekniPlex Development team is seeking a summer intern to lead new product development projects. During this 6-month role, you will actively participate in all aspects of product development alongside the Winston Salem R&D team. Responsibilities include collaborating with development, process, and quality engineers, maintaining test samples, and enhancing customer value through interactions such as visits and tours. This position is on-site, 5 days a week. Prerequisites Successful completion of TABE (Reading & Math) test Completion of IVO certification training (Industrial Vehicle Operator) Completion of JSA reading (Job Safety and Health Analysis) Completion of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Skills and Knowledge Understanding of packaging materials and their industry applications Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment Knowledge of PTMs, work instructions, procedures, and SOPs Proficiency in PC software: Excel, Word, Outlook, Lotus Notes, Iren/PRM Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and in teams Ability to interpret and record test results Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate projects Willingness to work under supervision Education and Experience High School Diploma required; technical or scientific work experience preferred, especially in lab techniques, instrumentation, or packaging Responsibilities Collaborate with development engineers Test raw, in-process, and finished materials Communicate test results effectively Participate in team activities Prepare and ship customer samples Support engineers with lab testing and reporting Follow documented procedures (WI, PTM, ASTM, Tappi) Engage with external suppliers and customers Calibrate lab equipment regularly Maintain lab proficiency and cleanliness Support departmental goals Assist in pilot plant trials and production runs Manage samples in the Packaging Library Physical Requirements TekniPlex is committed to reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities or qualified disabled veterans, unless it causes undue hardship.
