Effectively applies evidence-based practices including effective communication skills, principles, and techniques to promote internal change for the probationer. Collaborates with probationer, district, and community resources to develop and manage individualized treatment plans. Make home and community contacts in accord with case needs and supervision plans; prepare Pre-sentence Investigations, sentencing guidelines, and other reports as assigned in a timely manner; testify and provide sentencing recommendations to the court/attorney. Emphasis on coaching and mentoring of all line probation officers, covering vacancies, providing training for new staff, and reviewing presentence reports for the district. Minimum Qualifications Valid driver's license. Considerable experience working directly with diverse groups of inmates or probationers, co-workers and community agencies in a criminal justice and/or human services setting to accomplish collaborative and individual goals. Experience providing high volume case management supervision, counseling and documenting case activities on an on-going basis in a fast-paced criminal justice and/or human services setting. Experience gathering information, creating, reviewing and presenting reports to official or administrative entities. Experience with planning and directing projects and training others. Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Gmail, Word, and Excel. Demonstrated experience keying pertinent information into an automated record system. The selected candidate must be eligible and have the ability to obtain VCIN certification. Demonstrated ability to be a team player. Demonstrated leadership skills and position attitude.
