Job Description

Job title: Paralegal

Pay rate: $70,000 - $80,000 a year

Duration: Direct hire role

Location: Brea, CA 92821

Summary:

  • Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and policies.
  • Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices to support the legal team's decision-making and advice.
  • Maintain and organize corporate records, including minute books, resolutions, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with the management and protection of the company's intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
  • Coordinate with external counsel as needed to support the company's legal needs and ensure timely and efficient communication.
  • Maintain a tracking system for legal matters, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are prioritized effectively.
  • Assist with compliance matters, including ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and preparing correspondence.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the company to gather information and documentation as needed for legal matters.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments and industry trends, sharing information with the legal team as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate or associate degree in Paralegal Studies from an accredited program.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in the electric bicycle, retail, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of corporate, contract, and intellectual property law.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, as well as legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Experience with legal document management software is a plus.
