Summary of Position:

Contribute to the underwriting team to achieve profitable growth goals in conjunction with the company's financial plan. Provide technical underwriting support for assigned agencies and make sound underwriting decisions on referred and/or less complex accounts in compliance with company guidelines and state statue. Perform ongoing renewal underwriting.

Essential Duties & Job Responsibilities:

• Applies expert knowledge of underwriting programs, guidelines, contracts, and processes.
• Rapidly evaluates new property accounts in support of company objectives
• Utilizes internal/external technology while analyzing data to support risk evaluation
• Builds strong long-term relationships with a customer service focus with the company's agency force
• Complies with regulatory and industry standards while meeting production goals
• Accumulates key underwriting metrics to monitor submission trends
• Mentors supporting team members
• Collaborates with other departments to resolve policy issues
• Researches new products and coverage forms
• Actively initiate, participate, and communicate system and product enhancements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, economics, finance, mathematics, or related field
• An active 2-20 or 4-40 insurance license is preferred
• Two to five years' property and casualty insurance experience
• Strong PC skills, including Word & Excel
• CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Able to adapt to changing business needs and is focused on highest priorities first.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,377.00 - $62,000.00 per year
