JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for entering authorizations into the billing software and researching denied claims for the Adult and Children Clinical Services Mental Health Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: - Enter authorizations in electronic medical billing using Credible Software.
- Follow up on Batch Claim Error Report and update billing system with corrections.
- Assist Finance Billing personnel with corrections for any claims denied or exceptions not paid due to an error.
- Research and correct any exception identified by Finance Billing personnel.
- Check and report on client service eligibility monthly and record correct information in Credible.
- Enter appropriate Insurance in Credible software.
- Provide support and assistance to the Program Accounting Managers and the financial management team.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: - Associate of Arts degree in Business or Accounting.
- 2 years' experience in medical billing.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES: - Knowledge of Credible billing software and competence in Microsoft Office software especially Excel.
- Knowledge of financial reporting and ability to prepare complex billings.
