Job Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a changing work environment.
  • Experience with health insurance billing and terminology required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in timely manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

Job Description:

  • Create and process pre-certification requests for each assigned patient file.
  • Verify insurance and registration data for scheduled surgeries, review forms for accuracy.
  • Review, verify and update patient demographics and insurance information 
  • Input patient demographics and insurance information into the billing software.
  • Answer phone calls and handle inquiries.
  • Billing submission operations including but not limited to entering inpatient and/or outpatient charges ensuring the use of accurate codes and information for each patient. Requests for medical records, denials, and appeals must be performed.
  • Maintain medical records creation and follow up. Maintain documentation of any denials and appeals
