Job Title: Material Handler

Reports To: Shipping Manager

Job Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently and accurately managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products within the warehouse or production facility. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Management:
   • Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and products.
   • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment or production.
   • Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
   • Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
2. Equipment Operation:
   • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
   • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or safety issues.
3. Documentation and Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory levels.
   • Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation.
   • Update inventory management systems as needed.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
   • Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and disposing of waste.
   • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Coordinate with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure timely and accurate material flow.
   • Communicate any issues or delays to the appropriate personnel.
6. Problem-Solving:
   • Identify and address any discrepancies or issues related to material handling.
   • Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
