Summary

 

Lincoln Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer, supporting our Machine Division production teams. The Manufacturing Engineer will promote and adopt the continuous improvement culture by focusing on problem solving to drive improvements in the organization’s safety, quality, operational performance, customer satisfaction, and overall financial health of the company.

What You Will Do


The Manufacturing Engineer will handle substantial portions of project work and day-to-day shop support, leading projects both within the department and cross-functionally. Specific responsibilities include: 

 

  • Develop and execute continuous improvement activities to reduce cycle time, inventory, and waste while improving process performance, quality, cost, and standardizing the processes
  • Resolving safety, environmental and ergonomics issues
  • Quality improvements
  • Process improvements and optimization including cost reductions
  • Performing cost analyses
  • Continuous improvement initiatives / Six Sigma projects
  • Daily production support and development of processes for and the launching of new products
  • Capacity studies

 

Education & Experience Requirements


• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in related field
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, tools and materials
• Ability to research, analyze and justify financial purchases and make sound financial decisions
• Understanding of six sigma tools and statistical process control
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including positive communication skills, both written and verbal
• Work effectively and cross-functionally on a regular basis
• Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point; CAD software; ability to learn SAP
• Experience in project management and ownership
• Ability to perform hands-on work as required
• Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing experience desired
