We are looking for a Procurement leader to help build Ramp’s Procurement team and strategy from the ground up. You will be responsible for designing and executing all aspects of our internal Procurement strategy. In addition, you will provide critical feedback to our Product team as we build our own Procurement software product. This is a unique opportunity to not only build a Procurement function from zero to one, but also to shape the direction of our Procurement software roadmap.
Tactically, you will be responsible for managing/optimizing our procurement intake and approval process, negotiating contracts with vendors, and managing renewals and vendor relationships. At a higher level, you will be responsible for defining how we do Procurement internally, communicating that to the rest of the organization, influencing our product development, and eventually building out the Procurement team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. This position will require someone who is both able to roll up their sleeves and manage the day-to-day, as well as think big picture and help Ramp’s Procurement function and product scale.
Procurement Ops : Managing the procurement process -- monitoring requests and approvals, acting as the liaison between our team and vendors
Negotiations: Securing favorable price/ value / terms for Ramp
Vendor Management: Monitoring and acting on renewals, managing vendor relationships, identifying redundant vendors
Internal Procurement Strategy : Implementing best practices for Ramp’s internal Procurement and managing/enforcing policies with stakeholders
Product Feedback: Work with the Product team to build a better Procurement software tool
Minimum 4+ years of experience in a Procurement function, preferably at a high-growth technology company
Strong organization/project management abilities – able to juggle many different requests/negotiations at once
Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in modern procurement software and tools (e.g. Ramp, Zip, Coupa, Vendr)
