\nAbout UPMC West Shore
\nLocated in Hampden Township, UPMC West Shore is a 150-bed hospital located on a large campus, providing patients with access to specialty services including the latest in cancer care, orthopaedic surgery, women’s health, and heart and vascular services. Built in 2014, the hospital recently underwent a comprehensive expansion project, which increased the emergency department, enhanced surgical services, and added private inpatient rooms. In 2021, UPMC West Shore became the first hospital in central Pennsylvania to offer minimally invasive robotic technology to help diagnose and treat lung cancer in its earliest stages. UPMC West Shore earned The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval® for total knee and hip replacement and spine surgery and is certified by The Joint Commission in advanced heart failure. It is also a Magnet©-designated hospital.
\nWhat is the Graduate Nurse Rotational Program (GNRP)?
\nUPMC West Shore is pleased to announce we are NOW HIRING Graduate Nurses as full-time Professional Staff Nurses to support various hospital units as part of a special Rotational Program. The GNRP will begin in August 2025. Previous participants have had the opportunity to participate in the following rotation of Neurology, Ortho/Surgical, and Oncology over 6 months.

\nThe Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients’ families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

\nWhat Does Placement Look Like Post-GNRP?
\nUpon completion of the Graduate Nurse Rotational Program, placements are determined by participant preference, Hiring Manager preference, and business need through a collaborative matching process at UPMC West Shore.
\nApplicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education.
\nShift/Hours: Our RNs work a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.
\nGNs must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role -OR- must have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination with 6 months of hire.
