Full-Time Special Needs Nanny/House Manager – Manhattan, NY
$30–$35/hr | Expected Annual Salary: $62,000–$75,000+
Start Date: August 2025
Schedule: Full-Time | Live-In or Live-Out | Includes Overnights
A dedicated and proactive full-time caregiver is needed for a warm and welcoming family relocating to Manhattan. The position centers around providing compassionate, one-on-one care for a school-aged child with Rett Syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that requires a high level of support and attentiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to a non-verbal child with mobility limitations
Assist with daily routines including feeding, hygiene, dressing, and medication administration
Accompany child to and from school (school day is typically 8:00 AM–3:00 PM)
Manage overnight care up to 2 times per week (child may wake in the night as part of the condition)
Prepare special diet meals and assist with light cooking (occasionally for the whole family)
Provide stroller assistance and maintain safety at all times
Collaborate with family and any additional staff or therapists involved in the child’s care
Perform light housekeeping related to the child (tidying, organizing, laundry)
Ensure nurturing, structured, and engaging daily routines
Schedule:
Core weekday hours: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Two overnight shifts per week (with additional compensation)
One weekend day (flexible)
Flexibility required for non-school days and occasional full days
Qualifications:
Experience working with children with special needs , particularly neurodevelopmental disorders (Rett Syndrome, autism, etc.)
Calm, patient, and emotionally intuitive with excellent communication skills
Ability to provide hands-on physical assistance and use mobility aids
Strong understanding of child safety and behavior management
Experience administering medications and supporting alternative communication methods
Background in early childhood education, special education, occupational therapy, or similar is a plus
Hebrew language skills are a plus but not required
Comfortable with light cooking and household responsibilities
CPR and First Aid certified
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must be able to provide 3-5 professional references
Compensation & Benefits:
~$30–$35 per hour , depending on experience
~ Expected annual salary: $62,000–$75,000+ , based on hours and overnight shifts
