Job Opportunity: Director of Emergency Department (ED)

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for exceptional patient care and team development? A leading hospital in Freeport, IL, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Emergency Department (ED) to oversee the organization, supervision, and delivery of quality care in its ED.

Key Responsibilities

The Director will:

• Foster a staff-oriented culture focused on high-quality outcomes, staff development, and continuous improvement.
• Supervise and mentor staff, ensuring adherence to workforce standards and promoting patient satisfaction.
• Address physician, staff, patient, and family concerns to maintain seamless daily operations.
• Oversee compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Act as a clinical resource and expert, guiding staff to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
• Manage department budgets, including capital, operational, and FTE considerations.
• Support community health initiatives and actively participate in programs that benefit the communities served.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience, including expertise in regulatory compliance, resource management, strategic planning, project management, and quality assurance.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in Illinois, also prefer certification in a relevant field.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and ensure exceptional patient care.

Populations Served

The Director may care for or oversee services provided to a wide range of age groups, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, while serving as a key leader within the healthcare organization.
