About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead its regional medical center. The CMO will be a key figure in driving the hospital's safety and quality improvement efforts, with a focus on achieving top clinical and patient-centered outcomes. This role is pivotal in setting the standard for healthcare delivery and innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration and coordination of clinical practice across all service lines, as well as the development and deployment of process improvement methods to enhance clinical quality and patient experience while reducing healthcare costs. A top priority for the CMO will be to bring a high level of accountability to the medical staff community. Candidates for the CMO position must have an MD or DO degree with appropriate board certification, be eligible for a medical license in the state of New Jersey, and maintain eligibility for a faculty position in RWJMS. An advanced degree in business administration, health administration, or a similar field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have significant, progressive leadership experience, strong business insight, and a sophisticated knowledge of healthcare funding. Experience in leading quality programs within an acute care facility and competitive marketplaces is essential, as is the ability to make complex and difficult decisions. Highly developed communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, particularly with physicians and executives, are also required.
