The network serves over 20 million users across California, including the vast majority of K-20 students together with educators, researchers, and individuals at other vital public-serving institutions.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager, Network Operations, the CENIC Operations Intern is a part-time, temporary student position. Applicants must be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university at the time of hire. Students interested in this internship opportunity must be available a minimum of three (3) days per week for at least five (5) hours per day. Student interns cannot exceed twenty (20) work hours per week. Students must be available to work during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The schedule can be adjusted as needed for classes as long as the work hours are within the times stated above. Total hours worked per week are dependent on CENIC's business needs and may be changed by the supervisor at any time.

This position operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment including computers, telephones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. This position also includes work from home requirement.
WORK HOURS:
The Network Operations Center is a 24 hours per day/7 days per week/365 days per year operation. The regular workweek schedule is four ten-hour days on any days of the week. An employee’s work shift is based on CENIC’s business needs. CENIC Operations Interns must be available a minimum of three (3) days per week for at least five (5) hours per day.
