We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual (AV) Technician to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment for meetings, events, and multimedia productions. This job will be an on-campus position for one of our clients in Whippany, NJ. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering seamless AV experiences.
Key Responsibilities
· Audio Visual support of auditorium spaces as well as other on site meeting spaces.
· Technical set-up and operation of audio visual for live and virtual events Includes in-depth abilities, knowledge of, and how to operate Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and MS Live Event Platforms, including the integration of Microsoft products
· Concierge/Customer-centric focus on understanding what the client wants to achieve and being able to make that happen technologically.
· Technical set-up and operation of live events in the physical environment. Ability to switch video, playback recorded video, adjust audio levels, record events and integrate video conferencing codecs and streaming encoders.
· Solid operational capabilities of all technology in the client studios and event spaces designated in Whippany NJ.
· Technical support/troubleshooting of issues in studios, live event spaces and programs
· Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all aspects of live events
· Documentation of all relevant live event processes/procedures
· Maintain all required client policies (i.e. trainings, safety procedures, access rules, etc.
· Ability to perform additional live event projects as requested
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus
· 2+ years of experience in audio visual setup and support, preferably in corporate or event environments
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· A propensity for constant learning in the technical/IT realm
· A desire to find more stable/efficient ways of producing events with new technology
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high pressure, time-sensitive environments
Preferred Qualifications
· Proficiency in video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc)
· Experience with live streaming, video production or broadcasting
· Knowledge of networking fundamentals related to AV over IP
Working Conditions
· Work is performed in corporate offices, meeting rooms and other spaces owned and managed by client
Regularly requires standing, walking, bending and lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs.) Tasks may involve climbing ladders, routing cables, or working in tight spaces
